On this day in 1949, the American Air Force's Boeing-B-50 completed a world tour. The mission was named "Lucky Lady 2". The mission required a double crew with three pilots so that all the pilots could work in 4 to 6-hour shifts. 

Fuel tank mounted "Lucky Lady 2" flew from Carroll Air Base on February 26, 1949, and completed around the world flight in 94 hours one minute flight. 

It was 2 minutes less than last time. The plane was refueled 4 times during the flight.

On this day in 1836, Texas gained independence from Mexico. As a result of this liberation, "David Brent" became the first president and "Sam Houston" the first commander-in-chief.

On this day in 1965, the United States began bombing Vietnam with more than 100 warplanes. The operation was named "Rolling Thunder". 

The operation was aimed at increasing pressure on Vietnam's communist leaders and minimizing Vietnam's combat capability. 

As a result of this operation, more than 10,000 people were injured and killed. This mission continued till 1973.
