ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has called for a protest against the rise in prices of petroleum products.

In a statement, Imran Khan said that the imported government has increased oil prices by 40%, or Rs 60 per liter.

This would impose an additional burden of Rs 900 billion on the people and increase the prices of basic commodities.

With this, an increase of Rs. 8 in the price of electricity will come as a shock to the whole country. The probable rate of inflation will be 30% which is the highest in 75 years.

He said his government had coped with the Corona epidemic and provided an economic package of Rs 1,200 billion.

To save our people, we have reduced sales tax to zero this year and provided Rs. 466 billion for energy subsidy. For us, the first priority is always our people.

Appealing to the people, Imran Khan said, "I want everyone to come out after the Friday prayers and protest peacefully against the anti-people inflation which is being done by this imported government to crush the people and spread economic ruin in the country. There is no vested interest in this country and all assets are out of the country. "
