Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has warned that if Russia uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine, it will be seen as 'hostility to humanity'.

According to the French news agency AFP, he described the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin as "extremely disturbing".

He said that "Russia's threat to use nuclear weapons is a threat to international peace and security and it is unacceptable."

Next year, the Japanese Prime Minister will host the leaders of the G7 countries in Hiroshima. On August 6, 1945, the United States launched a nuclear attack on this city in which 140,000 people were killed. Three days after this attack, on August 9, 1945, an atomic attack was also carried out on Nagasaki, another city in Japan.

While speaking in Australia, the Japanese Prime Minister said that if nuclear weapons are ever used, it will be considered an act of hostility against humanity. The international community will not allow such an act. It should be remembered that after the attack on Ukraine in February of this year, the Russian president has threatened to use tactical nuclear weapons several times. On the other hand, on Saturday, in the context of the Ukraine war, there was an unusual telephone conversation between the defense ministers of Russia and the United States, in which international security issues were discussed.

According to AFP, this contact took place at a time when the pro-Russian authorities have announced to turn the southern city into a "fortress" in order to recapture the captured city of Kherson in Ukraine.

Kiev's forces are advancing to end the Russian occupation of Kherson. More details about this communication between the two defense ministers could not be revealed, however, both the countries confirmed the telephone conversation and said that the issue of Ukraine was also discussed. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that "international security issues were discussed, including the situation in Ukraine." According to the statement of the spokesperson of the US military, "Secretary of Defense Austin emphasized the importance of maintaining communication during the ongoing war against Ukraine."
