During the hearing, the Chief Justice remarked that it was an internal matter of Parliament and a date had been fixed.

Lawyers Mansoor Awan and Zainab Janjua appeared before the court on behalf of Murtaza Javed Abbasi. The petition said that the Deputy Speaker should be directed to convene a meeting on April 16 to conduct the election of the Speaker.

Mansoor Awan argued that the election of the Speaker National Assembly is also connected with the meeting. He said that the Speaker's Office was vacant and could not be kept vacant and this measure was being used as a delaying tactic to prolong the proceedings.

The Chief Justice, in his remarks, said that this was an internal matter of Parliament.

The election of the Speaker of the National Assembly will take place on April 22. Now the date has been fixed.

The court issued notices to Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, Secretary National Assembly, and Secretary Parliamentary Affairs for April 22 and directed them to file a reply.
